Easyplant recently opened its doors at 334 Columbus Avenue (between 75th and 76th streets), which was most recently home to a Bank of America location. The plant store, which we first wrote about when signage went up in October, claims to offer “the world’s most convenient self-watering plants,” made possible through a patented system in which each plant includes a hidden water reservoir. Easyplant opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Nolita last year, but that store appears to have closed. According to the company’s website, a second store is slated to open soon in the West Village. The Upper West Side store will be celebrating its opening with a “family-friendly day” on Sunday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More info about that here.

Wells Fargo just opened a new location at 2275 Broadway (at 82nd Street). “This will be Wells Fargo’s fourth new branch to open in New York in four months, with 10 more scheduled to open before the end of the year,” according to a bank press release. The grand opening event, which took place on Tuesday, included the announcement of a $125,000 grant to the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Foundation for the Storefront Improvement Program (part of the Storefront Resurgence Project). “The efficient and innovative digital design of the branch provides ATM access, workstations, and a welcoming customer experience,” the press release states. “A digital display wall provides product information with demonstrations of mobile services, allowing bankers to walk customers through features and options on the Wells Fargo application, enhancing digital engagement and improving the customer experience. Public Wi-Fi and convenient charging options are also available.”

The Cutting District opened in early April at 265 Columbus Avenue (between 72nd and 73rd streets) and their early reviews are pretty next-level, with a 5-star rating based on 328 reviews in just a few weeks. The new barbershop also offers their customers free drinks. “When you arrive they offer you a beverage (coffee, whiskey, beer, soda),” one customer wrote. Services and prices can be viewed on their booking page here.
Kine Musubi is aiming to open in August at 128 West 72nd Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues). “The menu will be focused entirely on musubi, the handheld Hawaiian snack that consists of rice, a sauce, and a slice of Spam (or other filling) wrapped up in nori,” Eater reports. The eatery began as a popup and is run by husband-and-wife team Chi Ian Chan and Lizzy Han. For teasers, follow @kinemusubi on Instagram.
