A sense of normalcy will soon return for UWS art lovers, as several museums have announced upcoming reopening plans.
The Folk Art Museum, located at 2 Lincoln Square, will reopen on August 28. Hours will be 11:30am to 6:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Read more at Lincoln Square BID.
The American Museum of Natural History, at 200 Central Park West, will reopen on September 2 for members and September 9 for the general public. Read more here.
The New-York Historical Society, at 170 Central Park West, plans to fully reopen on September 11. Hours will be as follows:
- Monday – Wednesday: CLOSED
- Thursday: 11 am – 5 pm(age 65+ and immunocompromised only)
- Friday: 11 am – 8 pm(6 pm – 8 pm is pay-as-you-wish admission)
- Saturday – Sunday: 11 am – 5 pm
The New-York Historical Society is currently hosting an outdoor exhibit which began on August 14.
The Nicholas Roerich Museum, at 319 West 107th Street, reopened to the public on Wednesday, August 26.
Hours:
- Saturday–Sunday, noon—3pm
- Wednesday–Friday, noon–4pm
- Closed Monday, Tuesday

The Museum of Arts and Design, at 2 Columbus Circle, is reopening on September 17.
