A man who was found dead outside of an Upper West Side building earlier this month has been identified by police.
NYPD officials have confirmed to ILTUWS that the man who died after falling from The Gloucester, an 18-story co-op at 200 West 79th Street, on the morning of August 4, was 68-year-old Thaddeus Paszek. NYPD records list his address as the same building.

As we previously reported, officers responded to the scene at 9:38 a.m. after Paszek was found unconscious outside the building. He was pronounced dead shortly afterward by EMS, who said his injuries were consistent with a fall from an elevated position.
According to West Side Spirit, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether Paszek jumped. An autopsy by the medical examiner had reportedly not yet been completed as of August 11.
A witness told The Spirit they were eating at nearby Nice Matin when they saw a covered body in the building’s garage driveway, along with police tape, officers, and vehicles from the medical examiner’s office. Staff working in the building’s lobby confirmed the incident to the outlet but declined to provide further comment.
The investigation is ongoing.
