Man Shot in the Leg in Late-Night UWS Shooting

A 41-year-old man was injured during an overnight shooting on the Upper West Side, police said.

It happened at approximately 12:23 a.m. Friday, when the victim was walking near West 90th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. According to the NYPD, he was struck once in the leg.

Police say the man was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Patch reported that the victim had been walking north on Amsterdam Avenue, nearing West 89th Street, when he noticed a man displaying a firearm. The victim crossed the street and began to run, only realizing he had been shot after feeling pain in his upper left leg.
