One of the city’s top pizza shops, the original Mama’s Too at 2750 Broadway (between West 105th and 106th streets), is expanding into the space next door to include indoor seating—a feature it’s always lacked, though this hasn’t stopped pizza lovers from flocking in from all over. The shop will also be adding more staff and equipment to keep things moving smoothly. And, they’ll be making their beloved limited-edition items permanent menu offerings.

Mama’s Too opened in 2017 and quickly began popping up on best pizza lists. Those accolades have continued to roll in, with Mama’s opening their second location in the West Village in March 2024. That same month, Luke Fortney at Eater penned a story titled “The Best Place to Eat a Slice of Pizza, Probably in the World,” highlighting both Mama’s Too and L’Industrie, which opened about a block away from one another at around the same time. Tuttolomondo said in the story that their original slice is inspired by Di Fara, the legendary pizzeria in Brooklyn.
In addition to the added space, Mama’s Too’s sandwiches which were originally sold on Wednesdays (and then Saturdays)–like their chicken cutlet with chipotle mayo and avocado, and Philly cheesesteak with their own homemade Cooper Shop–will soon be available all the time. Tuttolomondo is also known for creating new sandwiches on the fly, so every visit is worthwhile—you might end up trying something brand-new. Tuttolomondo also makes the dough for the bread from scratch in the basement downstairs.
Tuttolomondo has been testing out gelato and sorbet options for years, with the tasty treat officially hitting the menu in July 2022. By September 2022, he was showcasing his gelato brioche ice cream sandwiches, like this one with Kinder Bueno, which were only offered on Wednesdays with the sandwiches. But all that’s about to change.
We asked when the team expects Mama’s Too to be fully operational in the new space and will update this story when we find out.

They initially had seating when they opened then must have changed pandemic time. It was small but quaint. Think they even poured me a glass of vino. Loved. Saw the store next door was empty and a couple employees popping in and out in Oct? Nov? Assumed it was a matter of time. Psyched!
Love it; im sure Frank is happy with the chaos that occurs multiple times a day at the WV location, and is happy to bring that uptown and end our poor waits in the cold. So happy to have seen the brand grow up over the last decade, and for their success.
