Krispy Kreme Closes: Popular Pizza Spot Replacing It

The Krispy Kreme at 2563 Broadway (between 96th and 97th streets) has permanently closed.

We recently reported that Made In New York Pizza had leased a space at the same building. It isn’t uncommon for there to be multiple storefronts sharing an address, so we thought that might be a possibility. Also, the Krispy Kreme manager wasn’t aware that they’d be closing when we spoke to her in November.

This Krispy Kreme opened its doors back in 2020. There was previously a Krispy Kreme at 141 West 72nd Street (between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues), and the UWS seemed excited to see the multinational donut chain’s return.

Made In New York Pizza’s forthcoming shop will be its third location on the Upper West Side, adding to its storefronts at 421 Amsterdam Avenue (at 80th Street) and 271 Amsterdam Avenue (between 72nd and 73rd streets).

It’s been a popular choice since landing on the UWS in 2018–especially for its pepperoni, sausage and jalapeño, grandma, and upside down pies.

We’ve asked Made In New York for an estimated opening date but have yet to hear back.
