Just Salad first arrived on the Upper West Side in 2015 at 2056 Broadway between West 70th and 71st streets. They’re also in the works to open an outpost at 2853 Broadway (between West 110th and 111th streets) and at 4 Columbus Circle. Since the company’s 2006 debut at 320 Park Avenue, the healthy chain now operates roughly 70 eateries across seven states and Dubai.
In our previous writeup, we mentioned Just Salad’s MyBowl program where you can get special deals by using Just Salad’s $1 reusable bowl. For the month of February, Just Salad dropped the price of their salads to $8.99 for in-store MyBowl purchases. “We’re excited to introduce this promotion to our reusable bowl customers as part of our ongoing efforts to incentivize everyday reuse,” said Just Salad CEO Nick Kenner in an interview with Restaurant Business Online. “As the first QSR (quick service restaurant) to reward zero-waste behaviors since the founding of our brand and reusable bowl program in 2006, we’re proud to continue offering circular solutions that are convenient and accessible to our guests nationwide.”

In January, it was announced that Just Salad is partnering with Hero Bread, based out of San Francisco, for its permanent wrap menu. “Alongside the partnership’s debut, Just Salad also is releasing a seasonal menu that features the 2 gram net carb Hero wrap in a Honey Crispy Chicken Wrap,” reports Food Business News. Hero Bread can also be found as a bread option at 1,600 Subway locations as of last year. Each 6-inch serving size has 0g sugar, 1g net carb, 100 calories and 12g protein, per a Hero Bread press release.

If you decide to order online or through the app, Just Salad lets you filter the menu by specific diets, including “climatarian,” keto, vegan, gluten-free and paleo.
The new location is open Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
It all sounds extremely corporate. But better than an empty storefront.
Corporate or not, Just Salad is excellent.
“We’re excited to introduce this promotion to our reusable bowl customers as part of our ongoing efforts to incentivize everyday reuse,….”
Does everyone who runs this place talk like this? Does the CEO care that he sounds like a robot? It’s really distasteful for me to buy anything in this focus group-driven chain. I know Trader Joe’s is not different but at least they have the self-awareness to try to hide it. Just Salad with locations in seven states plus Dubai (!?!?) feels like I’d be giving money to Just Another Private Equity Firm.
