It wasn’t technically on the UWS, but it was close, and beloved by many. Fluffy’s Cafe & Pizzeria was located at 370 West 58th Street, on the corner of Ninth Avenue, for 45 years. We first learned of its closing from an August 19 article by the Fordham Observer. However, a Yelp comment mentioned seeing a “For Rent” sign two months ago.
Fluffy’s Cafe & Pizzeria’s website states:
“After 45 years of serving both New Yorkers and tourists from all over the world, with heavy hearts, we inform you that Fluffy’s Cafe & Pizzeria’s 58th Street location in Manhattan is now closed permanently, due to COVID-19. Many thanks to all our friends & customers who have travelled from near and far to come and enjoy our food and company. Thank you for all the laughs & memories. Thank you for allowing us into your lives and sharing your experiences with us. You will all be deeply missed. Please stay safe and hope to see you soon.”
The family-owned and operated casual eatery was well-liked for its friendly staff, breakfast, sandwiches, desserts and more.

Hate to see them go. “Mrs Fluffy” was delightful, such a great, welcoming little restaurant.
Is is where I had my first genuine “New York style “ cheesecake. It was so good.
Fluffy’s was one of my favorite places in New York City.
