Two expensive properties are hitting the auction block.

An unfinished penthouse at 150 Central Park South, Forbes reports, will be auctioned off in December. The bidding period will take place between December 18 and December 22, and the property is currently listed at $40 million on conciergeauctions.com. The post-renovation appraisal is $100 million, according to Forbes. Plans for the finished product include 5 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, spread across 9,650 square feet between the 37th and 39th floors of the building.

According to Forbes, auctions for expensive properties have increased in recent years as owners have looked for unique ways to draw extra attention to their listings.

In addition, a bankruptcy auction will be taking place on Wednesday, December 9 for 60 West 91st Street, a 5,800+ square foot brownstone with 9 total units and 7 vacant apartments. A less expensive auction will also be taking place for a two-bedroom condo at 211 West 88th Street. According to the listing, the property is in need of renovations, and the opening bid will be $390,000.
