(Almost) Every Open Restaurant on the Upper West Side

The Department of Transportation has launched a new map which is aiming to list every open restaurant in NYC. As the information found within the map is submitted by third parties, it’s likely that there are a few missing.

But, as of now, there are a little over 200 Upper West Side restaurants which are listed (and almost 6,000 throughout the boroughs).

Manhattan shows the most open restaurants, with nearly 3,000. There are approximately 1,500 listed in Brooklyn, 1,100 in Queens, 283 in the Bronx and 113 in Staten Island.

This list is expected to grow as more restaurant owners and their patrons become aware of its existence.

The map also displays whether each restaurant serves alcohol or not, and whether they are equipped with sidewalk seating, roadway seating, or both.

You can view the growing list here – just enter the zip code(s) you’d like to explore.

If all indicators remain positive, the city expects to enter phase three, which includes indoor dining, on July 6th.
