Police on Friday received a call about an individual who had fallen ‘from an elevated position’ at a building on the Upper West Side.

NYPD officials tell ILTUWS they got the call at about 1:30 p.m. When officers arrived at 175 West 92nd Street, a co-op located between Columbus and Amsterdam avenues (closer to Amsterdam), they discovered an 80-year-old man lying on the scaffolding at the base of the building.

While he was initially discovered conscious, the man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
No criminality is expected at this time. We’ll provide updates if and when we learn more.
