Five Below, the land of the 5 dollar holler, where most products go for $5.55 or less, has opened at 805 Columbus Ave. by West 100th Street. The Philadelphia-based retail chain currently has more than 1,200 stores across 40 states in the U.S. The Upper West Side opening marks the brand’s third Manhattan location.

“We’re still the home of the $5 backpack,” proclaims the Five Below website. The online store offers plenty of cost-effective options for school supply shopping, from Yoda and Squishmallow $5 notebooks to 48-piece colored pencil sets. Or pairs of Pilot gel roller pens and Crayola markers for $3.25. For just a buck, you can score two-panel folders, Mead wide-rule notebooks and binder clips.

Five Below also carries products for teachers, like $5 dry-erase boards and wall calendars, a $5 desk mat organizer and these cool marble stapler and tape dispensers.
Five Below also has a robust room décor section. This script love light, handwoven chindi rug (3 feet by 5 feet) and folding foot stool are a few of their bestsellers and all go for $5.55. Dog owners can take advantage of a 30-pack of puppy potty training pads, various beds and clothes in the same price range.

Five Below also has a new Five Beyond section, with products over the $5.55 benchmark that still deliver prices “Waaay below the rest!” according to their website.

The new Five Below at 805 Columbus Avenue is open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
