Daniel Boulud has officially revealed the name and concept for his next Upper West Side venture: Brasserie Boulud, a two-story, 7,500-square-foot flagship expected to open this fall at the corner of 64th and Broadway.

The new restaurant, designed by architect David Rockwell, will feature a large dining room, private dining spaces, a 27-seat central bar, and what’s being described as an “intimate speakeasy.” Seating capacity is expected to reach 170.

“The vision is to offer great cuisine at a variety of price points, from breakfast through late evening, welcoming guests before and after the opera, concerts, or shows at Lincoln Center,” Boulud told the New York Post, which first reported this story.

Brasserie Boulud will take over the combined footprint of Boulud Sud, Bar Boulud, and Épicerie Boulud, which recently closed after years of serving pre-theater diners and neighborhood regulars. The consolidation marks a shift in Boulud’s Lincoln Square presence, from multiple specialty spots to a single all-day destination.

“There will now be one place where you can get your croissant in the morning, and it will also be open for lunch, dinner and late night,” said Sebastien Silvestri, CEO of The Dinex Group, which oversees Boulud’s restaurant empire.

Silvestri added that while the pandemic posed significant challenges for the restaurant industry, “it is the right time to bring back the energy and vibrancy to this most iconic cultural destination in New York.”

Brasserie Boulud is expected to open in time for the holidays. We’ll share updates as soon as an opening date is announced.
