A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help Central Park Conservancy employee Brian Huber as his wife Giselle begins her treatment for lymphoma. The campaign was set up by two friends, and the goal is to raise $50,000 to help with the family’s living expenses as Giselle undergoes chemotherapy.

As of writing, they’ve raised more than $34,000.
Brian is described as an honest and hard worker who’s dedicated years to helping maintain the gardens, trees and walkways in Central Park. “Rain or shine, his hands help maintain the flowers, trees, and paths that bring joy to so many,” reads the campaign.
The diagnosis of lymphoma came a couple of months after their daughter’s early arrival, Gabriella, making the challenging time for the family even more daunting. Between hospital visits, chemotherapy and missing work, organizers say the financial burden is adding up quickly.
In addition to the fundraising campaign, a Give In Kind page has been created so people can assist with meal deliveries, errands, and other daily support.
Tarryn, one of the organizers, told us she met Brian through frequent visiting the park with her dog. “[I] became friends with him as well as the other Conservancy employees – they are like my family (since moving here 8 years ago). They don’t only care for the park, they look out and care for me and my fur-baby…”
The GoFundMe campaign calls for neighbors, parkgoers, and New Yorkers to help a family who has given so much to the community in the background. “Let’s stand with Brian, Giselle, their sweet baby girl Gabriella, and their loyal pup Shadow—just as Brian has stood with all of us, quietly and faithfully, among the trees and gardens of Central Park..”
