Big Daddy’s Closes

Last modified on January 22nd, 2020

Big Daddy’s announced their official closure on Instagram earlier today. The retro diner had been on the Upper West Side for ten years. It will re-emerge through the same ownership as a Mediterranean restaurant.

Big Daddy’s, which will remain open in Gramercy, has long been known for a child-friendly atmosphere, outrageous looking comfort foods and 80s music. We gave them a spot in the article we wrote about grilled cheese spots on the UWS (we’ll obviously have to edit this).

A long-time Instagram favorite, some of their most featured plates (in addition to their grilled cheese) have included their pancakes, waffles and milk shakes.

Reviews for the Upper West Side restaurant have always been mixed. They ended their UWS run with 3 out of 5 stars on Yelp, 4 out of 5 stars on OpenTable, and a 6.8 out of 10 on Foursquare.

We’ve reached out to the owner of Big Daddy’s to get some details about the upcoming Mediterranean restaurant. We’ll provide some info as soon as we get it!

Big Daddy’s was located at 2454 Broadway, between 90th and 91st Streets.
