Mark your calendars for Friday, October 31, as cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show will play on the big screen at Burger Joint–a hidden gem located within the upscale Thompson Central Park Hotel at 119 West 56th Street (behind the red curtain in the lobby’s main atrium)!
Screenings are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.; there are no tickets or cover charge … just show up (with a purchase) and grab your spot. Guests are also encouraged to come dressed in their best Rocky Horror chic!
If you’ve never seen the film and have always wondered why all the hoopla, “It’s the ultimate cult movie,” BBC wrote in 2020. “The first. The biggest. The one cult movie to rule them all. For more than 40 years, The Rocky Horror Picture Show has defined what we mean by a ‘cult’ movie, though few can ever hope to match its phenomenal level of ritualised worship.”
If that somehow didn’t intrigue you, here’s a deep dive by History.com, and here’s an old trailer.
Now, if you’re not familiar with Burger Joint, well, it’s also a longtime cult favorite, so by the end of the night, you’ll be a much cooler person.
In addition to its hand-pressed burgers and classic fries, Burger Joint serves up a series of delicious shakes. This Halloween, they’ll be exclusively offering their Science Fiction / Double Chocolate milkshake, which you can add a shot to if you’re looking to turn up.
So don your fishnets, grab a spiked shake, and prepare to feast—because Halloween at Burger Joint promises a deliciously twisted night you won’t forget. Here’s the official event page.
