A New Film Shot on the UWS, Featuring Mel Brooks’ Granddaughter

Upper West Sider Julian C. Santos recently released Last Party, his feature film. The film was shot on the Upper West Side by a group of NYU students and grads, including Samantha Brooks – a current student, UWS native and the granddaughter of Mel Brooks.

Santos used crowdfunding to finance the film, which has been accepted into four film festivals and is in consideration for more.

The team behind Last Party worked together on dozens of short films over the past few years. This will be their first feature film.

The film will be streaming in early June through the website of the New York Indie Film Festival (which is taking place online this year). Theater screenings around the city will follow shortly after.
