Earth Cafe, located at 2578 Broadway (at 97th Street), is closing its doors, Patch has reported. The restaurant confirmed with the publication that they’d be permanently closing, but did not provide a reason as to why.
When the pandemic hit, Earth Cafe was one of many restaurants to launch a GoFundMe campaign to support its out-of-work staff. Unfortunately, they had only raised $3,015 out of a $25,000 goal.
The corner cafe served pastries, paninis, bowls, salads and more, and was also popular for its coffees and relaxed atmosphere.
The restaurant joins a long list of recent closings including Mighty Bowl at 321 Amsterdam (between 75th and 76th Streets), Le Pif Wine Bar at 2058 Broadway (between 70th and 71st Street), and Santa Fe at 73 West 71st Street (between Central Park West and Columbus), just to name a few.
Earth Cafe first opened about 5 years ago.

I’m sorry, it was a pleasant place. But very mediocre food and the last time I was there they told me they couldn’t make me a café con leche because they had no sweetened condensed milk.
sad to hear about mighty bowl. I walk 20 blocks just to savor their delicious meals
