If you have acute or chronic orthopedic issues or aches and pains from sports injuries, Morningside Acupuncture at 900 West End Ave, Suite 1C (at 104th Street) can help! Even if you’ve never tried acupuncture before, after one session with Teddy, you will become a believer. Teddy is a licensed and board certified acupuncturist and herbalist with an unmatched bedside manner to treat a range of ailments. After one session, you will have wished you’d met him sooner!
Teddy says that acupuncture should be part of every athlete’s recovery and injury prevention plan. As a soccer player and runner, he’s used acupuncture to treat a multitude of injuries like ankle sprains, shin splints, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and numerous muscle strains. He also treats commonly seen ailments which include acupuncture for back pain, neck pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, and sciatica.
Utilizing traditional acupuncture along with trigger point release and dry needling acupuncture styles, Teddy is able to release myofascial constriction and tight muscles that cause pain and dysfunction. When muscles are tight they pull on their attaching structures, so releasing them with acupuncture helps reduce pain and improve range of motion.
Additionally, acupuncture calms the nervous system to restore the balance between mind and body which helps relieve physical symptoms of stress like anxiety, headaches, muscle tightness, digestive issues, sleep issues, menstrual irregularities, and fertility issues.
