UWS Teen Launches Food-Delivery Initiative

Upper West Side teen Jordan Kohn has launched a new initiative called NYC Quaranteens, a free food delivery service for those most vulnerable to COVID-19. All deliveries are made by teenage volunteers.

“NYC Quaranteens is a group of teenage volunteers who are here to provide essential food items for individuals who are at most risk of serious complications from COVID-19. We are here to support our community by making sure everyone’s nutritional needs are met during this challenging time.”

Given the closing of NYC schools, teens have quite a bit of extra time on their hands right now. And luckily, Jordan has seen quite a few good-hearted teens decide to volunteer their time!

Volunteers are taking all the necessary precautions to minimize contact and keep themselves and recipients safe. All volunteers are confirmed to be free of COVID-19 and have been practicing social distancing.

The delivery service is completely free; recipients simply pay for the items they order.

NYC Quaranteens is currently seeking volunteers and accepting new recipients.

Jordan is a Fieldston student and a budding artist. In addition to this charitable initiative, she’s also working on a new collection to commemorate the difficult times we’re living through.
