Golf v.2, an indoor golf club built around simulator bays and instruction, has set an opening date for its first Upper West Side location: Monday, November 2.

The club is moving into 1865 Broadway (between 61st and 62nd streets), which the Golf v.2 website says will be opening on November 2. It’ll join the brand’s existing spots at 23 Warren Street in Tribeca, 116 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights and 174 Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton.Founder Alberto Rezende told WhatNow that the company looks for spaces of 1,500 to 2,500 square feet in areas with disposable income, and especially near families and schools. “The Upper West Side doesn’t have indoor golf, and it’s an area with families,” he said.
Rezende told WhatNow that Golf v.2 runs what he described as the largest junior program in New York City, and that it partners with PGA camps and PGA Junior League. He said the most exciting part is giving kids who find it hard to play in the city a chance to get into the game. According to WhatNow, the junior program is based on the American Development Model and the Socratic method, with an emphasis on getting young golfers to think critically and take ownership of their game.
Like the brand’s other locations, the new space will have four golf simulator bays powered by TrackMan, a system that uses radar and cameras to track ball and club data, plus a putting green, WhatNow reported. Players can bring their own clubs or rent Callaway or Srixon clubs.
Golf v.2 is membership-only, according to WhatNow, with tiers ranging from monthly to annual. Monthly members can bring one guest free each time they play, while annual members can book an entire bay for a group.
Rezende also told WhatNow he’s looking to open more Golf v.2 locations around the city.
