One of the Upper West Side’s Sweetgreen locations has closed for good. If you’ve been following our coverage, it’s an address you’ll probably recognize from last month.

The Sweetgreen at 311 Amsterdam Avenue, between West 74th and West 75th streets, has permanently closed.This is the same location the Health Department ordered closed last month. An Aug. 24 inspection tallied 39 violation points across four sanitary violations, and the first one listed on the report was live roaches in the facility’s food or non-food area. It isn’t clear whether the permanent closure is connected to the Health Department’s action.
The space is now being marketed for lease by RIPCO. The listing describes it as a corner space at the southeast corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 75th Street, with 2,650 square feet on the ground floor and a 2,000-square-foot cellar. It has 60 feet of frontage on Amsterdam Avenue and 10 feet on West 75th Street. The listing notes the space is vented with gas and that restaurant use is permitted, and the landlord is seeking a long-term tenant. No asking rent is listed.
Sweetgreen opened at 311 Amsterdam Avenue in 2015. Before that, the space was home to Fusha West.
For anyone who counted on this location for lunch, there’s a nearby Sweetgreen at 159 Columbus Avenue, between West 67th and West 68th streets.
