Several people were robbed of their cell phones at gunpoint inside Central Park on Thursday night, with three incidents reported in about an hour and a fourth coming to light while officers were already on the scene.

The first took place at about 8:41 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 79th Street and East Drive, according to the police report. Three unidentified individuals approached a 28-year-old male, and one of them displayed a firearm and took his cell phone before the group fled on bicycles.The police report describes the same circumstances at 109th Street and East Drive, where a 24-year-old male had his cell phone taken at gunpoint at about 9:30 p.m. It’s not known which way the suspects fled.
At about 9:45 p.m., a 22-year-old male and a 20-year-old female met with officers at 106th Street and East Drive. They said three unidentified males had approached them, one displaying a firearm, and taken their cell phone.
While officers were still at that location, two 43-year-old males told them they’d also been robbed of their cell phone by three unknown males who displayed a firearm, then fled eastbound toward Fifth Avenue.
