Wednesday Health will be opening in 6 – 8 weeks at 265 Central Park West, between 86th and 87th streets. “We were founded by Dr. Ronni Levy, MD, and our focus is whole-person, preventive care — bringing together primary care, nutrition, fitness, wearable data, and diagnostic testing to help members stay ahead of their health,” a representative from the office told us. Wednesday Health further describes itself as a “concierge medicinal clinic dedicated to primary care, prevention, and longevity.”

Signage for Velvet Cowboy is up at 509 Amsterdam Avenue (between 84th and 85th streets). The space was previously home to Jacob’s Pickles, whose owner is behind the new restaurant. We’re told it’ll open by the end of the month; follow @velvetcowboyclub for details.

Signage for Szechuan Gourmet is up at 239 West 105th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam. The space was home to Szechuan Garden until that restaurant closed in March 2025 after nearly ten years. Despite the similar names, the two don’t appear to share owners, though we’ve reached out to Szechuan Gourmet to confirm. The restaurant has run a Midtown location at 21 West 39th Street since 2002 and is recommended by the New York Times. A staffer told Dave Cook at Eating In Translation that they plan to open on Wednesday, September 9.

Signage also recently went up for Talea Beer Co. at at 441 Amsterdam Avenue, on the corner of West 81st Street at the space which previously housed St. James Gate. The woman-owned brewery makes all its beer at its flagship Williamsburg taproom, which opened in 2021, and runs a handful of satellite tap rooms across the city, each serving Talea’s beer, wine, spirits and food. As a farm brewery, it uses a proportion of New York State ingredients. We’ve reached out to Talea for a target opening date.
