NYPD officials have issued an alert about an assault that occurred on the Upper West Side this week. Police are hoping someone from the public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individual.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 24 at about 11:55 a.m., when an unknown individual approached a 21-year-old female on the mezzanine of the 59th Street-Columbus Circle subway station and “punched her in the face with a closed fist.”The victim sustained minor injuries to the right side of her face and was treated on scene by EMS. The unidentified individual fled the location on foot in an unknown direction.
The sought individual is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a blue sweater, red pants, and multi-colored sneakers.
