A new restaurant is making its way to the Upper West Side.
Willet’s Corner is expected to open this fall at 420 Amsterdam Avenue at the corner of West 80th Street. The space was previously occupied by Black Lab Cafe, a cafe for both dogs and humans which opened in 2022 and closed earlier this year (after axing its dog menu).
Before Black Lab opened, it was home to Olma Restaurant & Bar, which closed in late 2019. And before that (because why the hell not), it was home to Yogurtland. (Check out our latest round of “What Used To Be Here”.)
A press representative for Willet’s Corner tells us it will offer “a shareable ingredient-driven and seasonally-inspired menu, alongside expertly executed cocktails and a by-the-glass wine program with a natural wine focus.”
The owner is Ken Halberg “and the team behind the beloved former Flatiron restaurant Harding’s.” Willet’s is described as an “American Restaurant” on Instagram, and a teaser video appears to indicate that it will have similarities to Harding’s, which was popular for its short ribs, though overall reviews were somewhat mixed.
We’ll provide updates when we know more.
