A rare opportunity to witness extraordinary young talent is coming to the Upper West Side this fall.

On Saturday, October 11 at 2 p.m., the New York Piano Society will present a dynamic concert at the Kaufman Music Center, located at 129 West 67th Street. The performance brings together rising stars and amateur pianists of the highest level for an afternoon of unforgettable classical music.

The centerpiece of the performance will be Ravel’s Piano Trio in A minor, featuring 15-year-old violinist Tobia Im and 17-year-old cellist Rowan Fortmiller, two standout students from Kaufman Music Center’s Special Music School.

The rest of the afternoon’s repertoire includes works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and more, performed by members of the New York Piano Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to discovering and nurturing pianists who pursue careers outside the world of professional performance. Its concerts showcase high-level musicianship from individuals whose day jobs span fields like medicine, law, science, and beyond — a reminder that artistry and passion can thrive in any walk of life.

The society’s Artistic Director, acclaimed pianist Natasha Paremski, has called the Upper West Side home for nearly 25 years. A celebrated performer and educator, Paremski brings a personal touch to every concert, curating programs that blend tradition with discovery — just like this upcoming event.

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here (children under 17 are admitted free and students can obtain $5 tickets at the box office).

This concert is an opportunity to experience a performance where seasoned artistry meets rising brilliance — right here in the heart of the Upper West Side.
