Forcible Touching, Stabbing Take Place Several Hours Apart: UPDATED SURVEILLANCE PICS

Two incidents took place at nearby Upper West Side subway stations on Tuesday. One suspect has thus far been arrested.

NYPD officials issued an alert about a forcible touching incident which took place at an Upper West Side subway station this week. Police are hoping someone from the general public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individual.

According to the police report, the incident took place on Tuesday at about 7:55 a.m. when a 15-year-old female was riding an uptown 1 train. Police say an unidentified male approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks as she exited the train at the Columbus Circle station.

The suspect remained on the train heading northbound. Police describe him as being approximately 5’10” tall, between 35 and 40 years old, and with a brown beard. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers and a grey backpack.

The NYPD has shared surveillance imagery with the public.

It was also reported that several hours earlier, a 46-year-old man was stabbed on a downtown 2 train at the West 96th Street station. Police say this incident took place at about 4:30 a.m., and that the suspect was a 54-year-old man who slashed him multiple times in the head, neck, shoulder and elbow. The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital in stable condition, and the suspect was arrested at the scene. Police have identified the suspect as Harlem resident Angel Alvarado. He’s being charged with assault in the first and second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
