Wedding season may already be picking up steam, but one ceremony is coming in hot for the title of “New York’s Biggest Day.” As part of its popular Summer for the City series, Lincoln Center will play host to an enormous wedding on Saturday, July 8 at 5:30 pm.

Though the outcome of the mass nuptials at Damrosch Park and Lincoln Center’s vast “Dance Floor” won’t technically be a legally binding marriage, the celebration of love is open to all New Yorkers — whether you’re a betrothed couple looking to tie the knot, renewing your vows or simply toasting your committed relationship to the greatest city in the world.
The multi-cultural event — filled with dance, live musical performances from special guests, karaoke, desserts and good old-fashioned revelry — is inspired by 2022’s (Re)Wedding, which allowed lovebirds whose big days were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to wed in style. Naturally, party-hopping Mayor Eric Adams provided remarks and well-wishes.

The second outing, which was conceived by one of Broadway’s most decorated directors and composers, Scott Wittman (Catch Me If You Can, Hairspray), will be hosted by comedian Murray Hill. Some of the aforementioned special guests include Met Opera soprano Latonia Moore, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, Dan Finnerty and cabaret sensation Bridget Everett. The Jina Brass Band will soundtrack the ceremony, and Lady Bunny, one of drag’s most prolific performers, will chair the dance party. Needless to say, you can expect an evening to remember.
